Merry Christmas!

I went to the OB today for my monthly check up. It was another super quick visit. They listened to the heartbeat and the baby kicked the heart rate monitor! So cute.

Tomorrow we leave for California to spend Christmas with my brother and sister in law. I'm so excited to get out of this freezing cold weather for a little while. My sister in law is pregnant too and due around the same time as me, so it will be fun to have two pregnant women waddling around together! (Ok, we're not really waddling yet, but it sounds cute.)

Since I won't be posting another blog until after the holidays, I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It's a Girl!

I just got back from the hospital, and the ultrasound technician said IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!
So on May 6, 2009, we will be welcoming Roxy Madison Ostrov into the world! I'm so beyond excited! They did the anatomy scan today and checked all of her organs and everthing, and it all looks perfect! AND to top it all off, my placenta has moved up a lot more. So she said all I need to do is grow some more and the placenta should be completely out of the way.

I'll scan the new ultrasound pics and post them later today. She looks adorable already.

I have an appt. with my OB on Monday so he should be giving me the detailed results of the NT scan I had a few months ago, but the ultrasound technician said everything came back fine.

So this is a very happy day for us and I can't wait to start shopping now that I know what I'm having!

Baby's First Kick!

Yesterday I felt the baby kick for the first time! I've actually been feeling movement for quite a few weeks now, but it has been more like a fluttering feeling. Yesterdays kick was very strong though. I was so excited that I woke Alexis up to see if she could feel it too, but no such luck. I guess we'll have to wait a little longer before Mark and Lexi can feel the kicks on the outside of my belly. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the feeling immensely. I hope baby kicks the crap out of me today.

Thanksgiving!

Nothing new to report from my doctor's appt. today. It was the fastest appointment I've ever had. I went in, they checked my blood pressure, listened to the baby's heart, and said come back in 4 weeks.

I'm super excited about Thanksgiving this week. This will be the only year that I can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner without worrying about looking pregnant afterwards! :)

Placenta Previa Update

So today was my first follow up visit at the hospital to check if there's any movement with my placenta. They told me to come in with a full bladder so they could see things more clearly, and since last time my bladder wasn't full enough I kind of over did it this time. Man, I thought I was going to EXPLODE by the time I laid down on the table. And then she started pushing down on my bladder and I prayed that I wouldn't pee in my pants. Good times, good times.

Anyhow, the placenta has only moved a tiny bit, but it moved so that's a good sign. We're hoping that it will have moved up a lot more by my next appointment in December.

I was hoping that we'd be able to see if it's a boy or a girl today, but we couldn't get a clear enough picture of that area. The technician says she feels like it's a girl because she couldn't find anything that resembled a twig and berries....but she said "don't buy anything yet."

So I guess we'll have to wait a little longer.

The little bugger was bouncing all around again today, and when the technician printed the picture, baby was laying on it's belly. So we got an interesting pic today of the
baby face down.
My next appointment is with my OB on Monday, and then I go back to the hospital for my anatomy scan on December 18th.

Back from my OB appt. and the Dr. said the Placenta Previa is a non issue at this point. He said the majority of women have placenta previa if you look at them early enough. He's betting that by my 20 week ultrasound, the placenta will have moved up already. So that's a big relief.

I got to see the baby again. It completely flipped over and is facing the opposite direction than it was last week.

Other than that, the appointment was pretty short. He did the ultrasound, did a pap exam, and that was that.

My next ultrasound appointment will be in 3 weeks at the hospital. This will be the longest amount of time I've gone without seeing the baby since I got pregnant!

NT screening

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Baby @ 11 weeks 6 days! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Tuesday I went to the hospital for my Integrated Screening and Level I ultrasound. It will take a week or two to get the results back. It was the longest ultrasound I've had so far and I loved it because I was able to watch the baby for a good 15-20 minutes. It looks like a boy to me and I think it has definitely inherited Mark's A.D.D. It was jumping around like a jackrabbit the whole time.

The technician also told me that I have Placenta Previa. Instead of the placenta being at the top of my uterus above the baby, it's at the bottom of my uterus under the baby and completely covering my cervix. This could cause problems if it continues throughout my pregnancy, but I have high hopes that it will move up as my pregnancy progresses.

I have to go back in 4 weeks for a follow up ultrasound to see if it has moved at all.

My next appointment with my OB is on Monday so I'll talk to him about it then.
