Tuesday I went to the hospital for my Integrated Screening and Level I ultrasound. It will take a week or two to get the results back. It was the longest ultrasound I've had so far and I loved it because I was able to watch the baby for a good 15-20 minutes. It looks like a boy to me and I think it has definitely inherited Mark's A.D.D. It was jumping around like a jackrabbit the whole time.
The technician also told me that I have Placenta Previa. Instead of the placenta being at the top of my uterus above the baby, it's at the bottom of my uterus under the baby and completely covering my cervix. This could cause problems if it continues throughout my pregnancy, but I have high hopes that it will move up as my pregnancy progresses.
I have to go back in 4 weeks for a follow up ultrasound to see if it has moved at all.
My next appointment with my OB is on Monday so I'll talk to him about it then.
Thats My Baby Sister....or Brother!!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved that sono too - that was really the first sono you got to see details! Don't they also measure the fluid in the spine on this sono?? So are you going to find out boy or girl on your 20 week sono? Don't worry about the placenta prevea just yet - it is early enough that it can move. I love that you are documenting this - great idea and a great way to share with everyone! Keep the updates coming and glad to hear everyone is doing well!

I hope its our baby SISTER! :)
ReplyDeleteDonna, I'm DEFINITLEY going to find out the sex of the baby at my 20 week visit. And yes, my sono on Tuesday was the one where they measure the fluid. She didn't say anything to me about it, so I'm assuming my doctor will tell me what it was on Monday.
ReplyDeleteI love Technology! That's super crazy that you can totally see the baby - I thought you would only see a small spec and not be able to make out the shape yet.
ReplyDeleteI know! I swear it looks like he has hair already in that pic! lol
ReplyDeleteHa! That's what I said. I was showing my co-worker your blog and we both mentioned how it looks like the baby has hair. BTW - I sort of think it's a boy from the picture. But then hey ... I've never seen ultrasounds before so I'm probably delusional.
